Thoughtful Thursday

This is a tough one to write. It is hard for some reason to really come up with these thoughts and put them in appropriate paragraph form so it may seem a little jumbled but I think you will get the point.

It has been a very hard couple of weeks for some of my friends. I have watched and prayed for them as they go through things that at some point we may or may not experience.

-One set of friends had to say good-bye to a Father and Grandpa. I know how it is to lose your Grandfather. That will be a day that I NEVER forget. I was actually in SC this past weekend and drove by where he used to live. It is just not the same and the people who live there have no idea. Oh the tears that were shed in that drive.

-Another friend got a call while on vacation that her Grandmother, who was in her 90's, had a stroke. They came home and then went back to the vacation. I am sure it was not the same. She came back to work on Monday to only be there a few hours and got the call that her Grandmother had gone on to her Heavenly Mansion. Oh Praise the Lord!!!!

-A friend of my husband lost her child to cancer this past weekend. My heart just breaks for them and the thoughts of losing a child. It really leaves me speechless. We will be attending a "Celebration" on Sunday afternoon.

-A friend at work has a very ill Mother. Her husbands Mother is also very ill. Both have cancer and both rely on her and her husband for everything they need. 2 Moms that are very sick and the 2 children taking care of them and still trying to work full time plus some. I'm praying for strength and wisdom for both of them.

I am sure there are so many more that I could write about. I am sure that there are more hurts and sorrows that we can wrap our human minds around. Yet, in the middle of the hurt and the pain that these families are experiencing, I believe with all of my heart that they all know that they will see those loved one's again. I can't raise my voice loud enough or my hands high enough to PRAISE HIM FOR THAT!!!!!! Can you imagine an eternity separated from HIM!!!!?????

I do need to share with you an e-mail that I got from our Prayer Warrior Leader at church. I just wish you could meet her. I have no doubt that she storms the gates of Heaven for the lost every day. She is conducting a Bible Study in her home. We,as her Sunday School class, have prayed for this study that she is doing. It's with neighbors living near her and those she knows. Below is the e-mail that she sent!!!!! You can just hear her excitement as you read it.

Thank you for your prayers for the Tuesday eve neighborhood Bible study. The LORD has heard and answered! Please take a moment to PRAISE and THANK our KING: HE has snatched a burning stick out of the fire! Last night on the drive home from the study, one of the ladies asked Jesus into her heart! It has been very obvious that HE has been in hot pursuit of her--oh how HE loves her (and us!)! Let us jump for joy and join in with the heavenly celebration over one soul who has repented!
Praise God! Praise His Holy Name.
Thank you for all your prayers (please don't stop praying!)....we meet 3 more times 7-8:30 Tuesday eves!

PLEASE:::::If you have a request, feel free to leave it in the comment section. Details are not necessary, God already knows the details.

This is a really cute idea for posting!!! I just love it and with a 2 year old this could really be fun!!!!

Let's get started. Let's see if you can figure out Kaleb's favorite word.

Me: Would you like to watch Cars?
Kaleb: Nope (as he hands me the DVD case)

Me: Are you hungry?
Kaleb: Nope (as he opens the pantry door)

Me: Did you play with your friends today at school?
Kaleb : No

Daddy: Where is your race car?
Kaleb: No race car

Daddy: Ready to go to school?
Kaleb: No, ready for school as he heads for the door with car in hand.

Daddy: Want to talk to Mommy on the phone?
Kaleb: NO!!!!!!!! (this is the typical response in the morning drive but completely different in the afternoon)

Me: Kaleb, would you like an ice cream cone?
Kaleb: Ice cream cone, Ice cream cone, Ice cream cone NOW!!!!!!!

This was such fun!!!!!! Kaleb is working on saying "yes" but for now we read between the lines of the letters N and O and somehow find the word Y E S!!!!

Now it's your turn.......

Thanks for stopping by!!!!! Don't forget to go to the link at the top and sign in!!!!

BLOG HOPPING AGAIN!!!!!!

MckLinky Blog Hop

Favorite Recipie

I actually have 2 to share. Both from very special people.

From my Granny---A Cup of This and A Cup of That
1 cup sugar
1 cup flour (self-rising)
1 cup milk
1 cup of fruit (fresh, canned, frozen)
Mix sugar, flour and milk together. Once combined, add in the fruit and stir to coat the fruit.
Place mixture in a well coated with Pam 8x8 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for about 40-60 minutes depending on your oven and your fruit. Top should be golden brown. Serve warm with ice cream. There WILL BE NO LEFT OVERS.

From a great friend Michelle and it became known at church as Marsha's Favorite Salad. She is My Other Mother who is now a missionary in Ukraine. ANYTIME we would get together for a meal or have something at church, I never had to ask what to bring. It was always "The Salad".
So, thanks to Michelle, Here is........

Marsha's Favorite Salad

1 bag of baby spinach leaves (rinsed and drained)
1 small container of cranraisins or dried cranberries
1/2 container of feta cheese crumbles
1 can of mandarin oranges (drained well)
2 handfulls of candied walnuts
Toss together and serve with a plain cruton and Fat Free Raspberry Vinegarette.
**During the summer, add sliced grilled chicken or steak or even pork for a complete meal**

I hope you enjoy these as much as we do.

Not Me Monday!!!!!!

*****REVISED TO NOT MY CHILD MONDAY!!!!******** ( I can't figure out how to get the "button")

Ok, I have a friend that loves to read McMama and she also reads mine but she doesn't have a blog herself. She so needs one and I am working on that. She had to share her "Not Me Monday" with me last week and I almost fell out of my chair at work when I read it. I got permission and she has allowed me to share it with you.

"My 3 yo daughter did not dig a hole, poop in it, cover it up and exclaim "Mom, I just like de kitty." Nope not my kid." (Thank you Tara for letting me share)

I did not go to a seafood restaurant and completely pig-out on FRIED food!!!! Which made me sick!!! YUCK!!!!!

I did not eat 2 whole plates of fresh vegetables out of my parents garden this weekend while I was at their house. There is just something about fresh vegetables out of a garden.YUM!!!!!!!

I did not go to the Bath and Body Works Outlet and spend way to much money. After all, it is for an event, me, and maybe if I decide to share, some birthday or Christmas pre-shopping.

I did not drive almost 4 hours before I decided that my 2 year old needed a break to get out of the car. We were almost home.

I did not let my child ride standing in front of my down my parents driveway to the garden, dancing to the music and asking me if I was "sceared".

I did not allow my 2 year old try to use pencils and crayons and catch him wanting to draw on the wall and not on the "peper".

I did not find out from my Mom that he had decorated their hallway and one closet door with a pencil.

I did not have to teach the above 2 year old that we don't spank Mommy and Daddy and Mema and Papa with the spatula.

I did not have to institute a "time-out chair" last night because talking was not getting me anywhere above the high pitched screaming from a 2 year old.

We had a great time at my parents. Kaleb had spent the entire week. I will share pictures later on this week. My parents garden is BEAUTIFUL!!!!! This is going to be a busy week....stay tuned!!!!!

We interupt our regular programing for a Special Report!!!!!!

I had to interupt the usual daily post for this. I felt that it was necessary for those who may not have been to the Blog before or it has been a while. We had a guest Pastor this past weekend in our Church. He spoke about being "unleashed" and being active in ministry for Christ. I want to make it very clear to anyone that reads this Blog on a regualr basis that Christ is my Savior and that will never be denied. He saved me at a young age and to this day He is still working in and through me and I pray that I continue to put self aside and allow Him to continue His Handy work until the day He calls me Home with Him. We have an awesome lady in our church named Joanne that is in charge of the Prayer Ministry and she sends out request and praises all the time. This week she sent out an e-mail about the different ministies that we have at church and how so many of us are "unleashed" to do what He has called us to do. I had to share. Not sharing would have been delayed obedience and I learned a long time ago that delayed obedience is disobedience. Below is what I wrote. If you are a Mom that I have been with, or you are a Mom that I am currently working with or someone who knows someone that may need me, I hope that you know that you are loved and prayed for. I have 2 biological children, 1 adopted and 15 "Mothered" children. I love them and their parents and try to keep up with them as much as possible. There are no words to express my gratitude to those who have allowed me in the delivery room or stand outside the OR doors waiting for that new life. Thank you to those who read and those who comment!!!!!! Please continue to pray!!! I will continue to serve.
Joanne,
There a lot of people at Cornerstone that have no idea what I do but I believe with all of my heart He is in the middle of what I do because He has put me there. Tuesday night I went right after work and watched a new life. I watched His creation and His handy work, right in front of me. I was just overwhelmed as I always am. I watched a "couple" turn into a "family". A wife and husband turn to a Mom and a Dad. I was humbled to see Him at work again. My families know that I am a Christian. I don't deny that and I send them to my blog and let them see what He is doing in my family and in my life. I have watched a lot of teenage girls become Mothers and I have even been apart of the one that gave her baby up for adoption. He has blessed me with that privilege and He is growing me in ways that I didn't think possible but with Him all things are possible. No, what He is allowing and doing in my life is not a "Church-wide" ministry but I covet the prayers when there is a delivery or that new teen mom and I are meeting for the first time. My ministry/buisness is Mothering The Mother and I only pray that I Mother these Mothers with His love!!!! That the one's that are not a believer will seek me out to ask or allow that seed to be planted. He equips me and He uses Cornerstone to do that.!!!!!!! PRAISE HIM FOR THAT!!!!!!!!

THOUGHTFUL THURSDAY!!!!!

Thoughtful Thursday!!!!!!

I am having a hard time believing it is Thursday all over again.
My original thought was to have something very profound to write about today and being profound is not where this tired brain is today. I am feeling a bit tired but never the less still putting one foot in front of the other and making it through another day. A very busy one at that. Therefore I have chosen to take the easy way so to speak. This is been a favorite of mine from Third Day. Love the new one's Revelation and Born Again. But.....As you read through this song. Really think about it. Think about what it is saying and realizing that all we have to do is just call on Him.!!!!!! Aren't you thankful for that!!!!!!!

It's been so long since
You felt like you were loved
So what went wrong
But do you know
There's a place where you belong
Here in My Arms

Chorus:
When you feel like you're alone in your sadness
It seems like no one else in this whole world cares
And you want to get away from the madness
You just call My name and I'll be there
You just call My name and I'll be there

The pain inside
Has erased your hope for love
Soon you will find
That I'll give you all
That your heart could ever want
And so much more

Chorus:
When you feel like you're alone in your sadness
It seems like no one else in this whole world cares
And you want to get away from the madness
You just call My name and I'll be there
You just call My name and I'll be there

You just call My name
You just call My name
Call My name say it now
I want you to never doubt
The love I have for you is so alive
Call My name say it now
I want you to never doubt
The love I have for you is so alive

You just call My name
You just call My name
You just call My name

The love I have for you is so alive
The love I have for you is so alive
You just call My name
You just call My name
You just call My name

Call out to Him Today!!!!!

WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY!!!!

Good Evening To You!!!!!!

What an awesome and exciting day this has been. Tuesday evening I went to the hospital to meet a couple that had hired me as their Doula. Of course, what I am most passionate about for sure!!! She worked all evening and into the night and early morning. At about 9:45am this morning we welcomed a brand new precious baby boy into the world. He looks like his Mom and he is just gorgeous. She had a beautiful delivery, worked like a pro and it was just awesome. Once again I am totally overwhelmed when such an event takes place and the fact that I am invited into such a place of intimacy between the Dad and Mom-To-Be is just a humbling experience.

It is something I wouldn't trade anything for!!!!! It is truly my passion!!!!!
