Ramblings

It is yucky outside today. Lots of rain, dreary looking and you just kind of want to curl up with a good book and read it.
I am working on a couple of different post for this week but decided I might want to do something today to kind of check -in.
The holidays are so fast approaching and it just overwhelms me at times. Christmas decor is already up all over the place and we have not even had Thanksgiving. I am one that has to attack each one, one at a time.
It has been brought to my attention here lately that when I think about complaining, I need to stop and really think through what it is I am complaining about.
Now, this is going to get personal but stick with me on this one.....
Example #1- Last night, the hubby and I made it to the gym. We worked out together!!!!!! Way cool and so much fun. So we both have weight we want to loose. So, this morning, being the good "Diet-er" that I decided to go through the drive-thru and get a GRILLED chicken salad with FAT FREE honey mustard dressing. SOOOO PROUD OF MYSELF!!!!! Lunch time rolls around and I am READY for this salad. I'm talking mouth is watering. I walk in to get it out of the refrigerator and IT IS GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They left the dressing and took the salad. I was FUMING MAD!!!!!!!! Let's just say everyone in the office knows that someone ate my salad. I made a sign and hung it in the refrig. "Please don't eat food that is not yours!!!!" I walked back into our office and got the fattening lunch that was brought in and I as I sat here eating it because I was sooooo angry. I got tapped on the shoulder.......... 1 in 8 Americans go to bed hungry. You have FREE food sitting in front of you and your pride is in the way.......Maybe someone else needed that salad more than you....OUCH!!!! so, to say the least, I hope whoever got the salad, enjoyed it and it filled their stomachs.
Example # 2- I am soooooooooooooooooo very thankful for the health of my children. Several times I have mentioned on here about Stellan and Johanna and other children that I have read and followed their blogs. I'm overwhelmed with compassion for them and pray for them and watch and follow their families. What a testimony they are. I hold my children a little tighter at night.
Example # 3- I have friends. I have many friends but I have a handful of "Close friends". You know the kind that..... You can write a post on Facebook and in a few minutes you get a phone call or an e-mail wanting to know what is up. You can NOT write on your blog and they want to know why. You can walk into the room and not say a word and she says......"Come, let's talk" while she taps on the table she is sitting at. Those are the friends that keep me in check. The ones that know when I am struggling and can't find the words to utter out of my mouth because the tears will start before the words. I am thankful for those because there are so very many lonely people. I am truly grateful for them!!!!!!
So, there are soooooooooooo many more that I could list here. How about you? Have you caught yourself complaining only to realize that what you are complaining about is a blessing.
Please share your thoughts....... I would love to hear them

Laboring With You,
Doula Mama Pam

This is great for perspective. Thanks for always being an encouragement.

Thanks for the reminder of how important great friendship is. It is as necessary as excercise for our well being. We need to share this perspective with our daughters.
