Friday Evening.....My heart is heavy

Dear Readers,

Most of you who stop by and read or stop by and just see what is going on over here usually don't leave a comment but I know you have been here because the counter says you have. That is just fine and I soooo don't mind at all.
Tonight as I sit here getting ready for bed and my Little Man is fast asleep in the room just on the other side of the wall, my heart is heavy. You see, I have a friend. Her name is Nikki and her husband is Chad. They have been waiting for the arrival of their precious daughter and second child. Her name is Johanna. Don't you just love that? Johanna was diagnosed with a Genetic Disorder called Trisomy 18 back in April. I am not even sure how I found her blog but we just kind of clicked. I would leave comments on her blog and she would leave them on mine. We have even e-mailed a few times and I made her a bracelet with Johanna's name and a couple of pairs of earrings and sent them to her. She lives just a ways down the road.
This morning was the morning that we had all been praying and waiting for. Today was the day we would all finally meet Johanna. With Trisomy 18, no one knows how long she would be here on this earth before the Lord would take her home to be with Him. Chad and Nikki had made the decision to follow through with this pregnancy no matter what. This was His child. He had chosen Chad and Nikki to care for her no matter how long. This morning, Johanna met her Mom and Dad and family. She was loved on, caressed and cared for. I am sure she was snuggled, kissed and cried over. Every wrinkle, every hair, every dimple, finger and toe counted. Then she went home to be with Jesus. As her grandfather so perfectly put it, "Outwardly, she was perfect. Internally, her condition prevented her from staying with us here. ".
I can not imagine the range of emotions that Chad and Nikki and the family are going through this evening. The tears and the sorrow must be overwhelming. I don't know them that well. Yet, she and Chad are my brother and sister in Christ. Therefore "far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by not praying for you (them)". If you have a moment, would you stop by her blog? You can see the sweet picture of Johanna and the precious picture of those perfect toes that are now walking the streets of gold with our Savior.
Their blog address is www.chadandnikki.blogspot.com . Stop in and just leave a comment. Just let them know that you are praying for them now and in the days ahead. It would mean the world to them.
Thanks so much!!!!!!!
Praying for you,
Doula Mama Pam

Thanks so much Pam. Our hearts are sad, but uplifted at the same time. My arms feel empty tonight, but I know she is rejoicing and praising her Redeemer. All the while making her Mommy very jealous.
